Wielka Krokiew imienia Stanisława Marusarza is the largest of Zakopane's ski jumps with a K120 structural point. Situated on the northern slope of the Krokiew mountain at the junction of Bronisława Czecha and Józefa Piłsudskiego streets, it is one of the most beautiful facilities of its kind. It owes its beauty to its natural location in the midst of the Tatra forests.
The area around the ski jump attracts visitors with numerous souvenir stalls and attractions for children (quad bikes, a rope park, pony rides and, in winter, a small ski lift). For motorised visitors, there is a car park for both cars and coaches. The famous Zakopane restaurant Bąkowa Zohylina is located on nearby Piłsudskiego Street.
Zakopane annually hosts ski jumping competitions in the World Cup and the Summer Grand Prix. The unique atmosphere during the competitions is felt not only at the venue itself, but also in the entire town.
The record on the Wielka Krokiew was set during a World Cup competition in 2003, is 140 m and belongs to German Sven Hannawald. This result is considered an official record.
